In the stage lighting industry, strobe lights can generally be divided into 3 categories: traditional bulb-type strobe lights, LED strobe lights, and gas discharge strobe lights.
The 1st one is the traditional bulb-type strobe light, which uses incandescent bulbs or tungsten halogen bulbs as light sources and realizes intermittent flashing of light by controlling the on and off of the bulbs through circuits. Its advantages lie in the low cost of bulbs, soft light, and good color rendering properties, making it suitable for scenarios that require high color reproduction,like drama performances and small indoor concerts.However,its disadvantages include short bulb life, a limited range of adjustable flashing frequencies, and difficulty in achieving very fast or extremely slow flashing effects, which makes it less suitable for modern stage performances that pursue strong visual impacts and diverse rhythms.
The 2nd one is the LED strobe light, which is widely used in the market. It uses light-emitting diodes as light-emitting elements. Its advantages are quite obvious. It has low energy consumption and can significantly save electrical energy under the same brightness output, thus reducing operating costs. It also has a long service life, which can reach tens of thousands of hours, greatly reducing the trouble of frequently replacing lamps. Moreover, it has a wide range of adjustable flashing frequencies and can create various stage atmospheres. In addition, by controlling the combination of different color LED chips, it can achieve colorful strobe effects. However, the color rendering of some low-end products is not good enough. Fortunately, high-quality products have already seen improvements in this regard.
The 3nd one is gas discharge strobe light is commonly used on large outdoor stages and in stadiums. It generates strong light via gas discharge, like xenon strobe lights.
It features extremely high light intensity and brightness, able to draw the audience's attention from afar in open spaces and create a visually impactful effect. However, its flashing frequency adjustment flexibility is inferior to that of LED strobe lights. Also, it has a long startup and restart time, a complex internal structure, demands special power supplies and trigger devices, comes with high costs, and requires professional maintenance.

Common Product Types
Flat/Square Strobe:
Flat/square strobe Lighting have a regular appearance, which is convenient for splicing & combination to create neat & rhythmic lighting effects. They have a regular light coverage range, which is beneficial for illuminating specific areas and showing strobe effects. However, their shapes are rather rigid, making them slightly insufficient in creating a soft atmosphere. Moreover, the angles of their light are fixed, lacking flexibility in dynamic changes.
Round Strobe:
Round strobe Lighting have a round & elegant appearance. The light they emit is evenly & softly distributed, creating a good atmosphere. They can dynamically track targets and flexibly change the projection angles to meet the needs of different scenarios. However, their internal mechanical structures are complex, their costs are relatively high, their prices are expensive, and they are prone to mechanical failures after long periods of frequent swinging, requiring regular maintenance.
